Source satellite images used in mapping the Nepal disaster — Copernicus Emergency Management activation EMSR927
- Outcome
- Completed
- Search date
- Source
- Copernicus Emergency Management Service
- Reference
- RUN-20260905-010
- Aim
- Inventory source imagery exposed under EMSR927, including every AOI and monitoring round.
- Source and interface
- Copernicus Emergency Management Service — Rapid Mapping public activation API
- Search method
- Retrieve activation EMSR927 from the public API. Traverse every AOI, product and images array; preserve acquisition date, sensor, filename, product version and delivery status. Enumerate public image URLs expressly provided by the API or linked metadata; do not construct downloads for empty filenames. Link to the existing EMSR927 canonical resource and retain derived products for the next phase.
- Criteria
No language or cloud exclusion. Dedicated releases include all supplied historical references. Spatial searches use WGS84 [84.3976,27.7320,85.5508,28.3500], 2026-06-27T00 00:00Z to 2026-09-05T11:16:27Z. No provider requests or bulk science downloads. - Coverage
- Complete event-specific release, including provider-supplied historical references. Results-examined unit: image metadata records.
- Stopping rule
- Exhaust every publicly exposed matching record and metadata pagination link.
- Result
12 image metadata records; 1 discovery records with documented dispositions; 10 distinct asset URLs within this run. Rediscovery of existing reviewed resource; additions staged under review. Complete API response: count=1, next=null; six AOIs and every listed product round traversed. Pending images without an exposed layer remain metadata-only scene records, not invented downloadable assets. Phosretar AOI05 initial product version 3 records a correction of observed event and not analysed, delivered 4 September. Prior asset URLs and prior discovery evidence are retained; a corrected product is not treated as a new independent resource.
